The Everest Base Camp trek with Gokyo and Cho la Pass is a complete tour of the base camp of Everest (8848 m) and surrounding natural destinations of Gokyo Lake, Kala Patthar, and Cho la Pass.

Day to Day Itinerary
After your arrival at Kathmandu today, you will meet with our representatives from Himalayan Pic Du Midi and get transferred to your hotel. After some rest and refreshments head, you will meet your trek guide, manager and staffs at our office. After some briefing about the tour and formal introduction, we will take you to your hotel where you can take your lunch and rest. In the evening you can even stroll in the streets and take a peek of the local lifestyle. Overnight at Kathmandu.
After your early morning breakfast, you will head towards the major attractions in and around the Kathmandu Valley. Starting at the history and culture packed Kathmandu/Basantapur Durbar Square. After a brief stroll here viewing the monuments, you will head towards the south-west hill temple of Swyambhunath. Also known widely as "The monkey temple," a short hike to the top will give you a panoramic view of Kathmandu valley and surrounding hills. After a quick snack, you will head towards the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath followed by Tibetan inspired Boudhanath Stupa. You have the freedom to extend your stay at any of these places before returning to your hotel. In the late afternoon, we will meet at our office and do the necessary shopping and preparation for the trekking ahead with your guide. After everything is ready, we will take you to your hotel. After a light morning breakfast, you will head towards TIA and take a domestic flight to Lukla. The flight is a short one taking you to the nearest airport from the southern Everest base camp. Prepare yourself for one of the most scenic flights of your life over the Himalayas as you move from the plains to hills followed by an airport in the high hills. In this flight, you will get an opportunity to view some of the major mountains of the Himalayas and some that will witness from near in upcoming treks too. Once you reach Lukla, you will rest and take a quick snack before starting the hike towards Phakding. After an hour of slow and scenic descent, you will reach the village of Cheplung from where the views of sacred Mt.Khumbila (18,900 ft) are presented to you. From there you will head further down in an easy trail leading Phakding. Overnight at a hotel in Phakding.
After walking the beautiful Pine forest trail gradually descending, you will cross the Dudh Koshi River and pass a couple of village before reaching the entrance to the Everest National Park. Once we have the permits, we will head towards a quieter trail leading to Namche. From the path in the ridges with green hills surrounding it, you will cross small streams and passes before reaching the Jorsale village. From here you will walk alongside the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers gradually ascending towards the Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar. You will know that you are near Namche when a clear view of Mt. Everest and Lhotse welcomes you. Once in Namche Bazaar you can rest and head for a stroll. As Namche is the only well-facilitated settlement in the path to the base camp, you can enjoy multiple luxuries here before a tough trek. Overnight at a hotel in Namche Bazaar.
Today will be your first of three days in the itinerary, we selected for acclimatization and resting in this Trek. Lying in the altitude of 3,440m Namche Bazaar is a perfect strategic place to acclimatize before further pushing to higher destinations. One likes to spend more time here because of the lively atmosphere and friendly people. After breakfast, we will start our exploration of surrounding villages and monasteries from Namche. First, we hike to the Everest view hotel via Syangoche and enjoy the mesmerizing Himalayan view here. After a tea break here, we will head towards the Khumjung village. The Khumjung monastery here holds the relic (scalp) of Yeti.
Namche is also an important commercial center for the locals of the Himalayas. So, staying here is also an opportunity to learn more about the lifestyle and culture of people in the mountains. You can get supplements necessary for the trip here with the provision of different leisure adventure activities. You can climb up to small hills surrounding to view the majestic sunrise falling upon the Everest from here. You can also keep yourself busy by hiking to the nearby Sherpa village and watching their way of living.
In the evening you can spend some time with your fellow travelers in the restaurants and trying the local delicacies. Overnight at a hotel in Namche Bazaar.
After early morning tea, you will head towards the Khumjung hill from Namche and take a gradual ascending trail. From here, we will take a slight descend and we will take a northern route providing a more unobstructed view of mountains beside Dudhkoshi river. To reach Phortse Thanga, you have two of the primary paths. You can move forward selecting any one of them or as per the guide's suggestion. On your trail, you will meet a Chorten in a hill descending from Mt. Khumbila. You will then head towards Mohang which is also the birthplace of the legendary re-incarnated Lama of Tibetan Rongbuk Monastery. People believe that he was the pioneer of Buddhism in the Khumbu region of the Himalayas. The path again dips down the Dudh Koshi river, and you will reach Phortse Thanga near Dudh Koshi from here. Overnight at Phortse Thanga.
Today's trail starts today with of a gradual downhill walk to the village of Dole. The path is narrow with beautiful Himalayan flowers on both sides. Further elevating you will be greeted with rhododendron forest and small patches of grasslands with yaks in it. Nearing the village of Tongba, you will cross a beautiful waterfall. After a brief rest in Tongba, you will continue your journey further up to the Dole Village. The view of the Mountains is pristine and you can have enough of them in your short trek today. Overnight at Dole.
After an early light breakfast, you will start your trek from the Dole village today. The vegetations begin to shift from alpine patches of forests to small shrubs and rocky as you elevate more. You will then pass the villages of Lambada and Luza both providing a great view of hills and snow-capped mountains before finally reaching Macchermo. Today's entire trek will be alongside the majestic Dudh Koshi River. Rest at Machhermo and prepare for a further elevation to Gokyo tomorrow. Overnight at Macchermo.
We start our day with a quick climb to a ridge which gives us the perfect view of the Cho Oyu (8153 m) and the Kangtiaga valley below it. As we push further up, the trail widens and Passes through the landslide-prone areas of Phangkha. After a quick descent to the river, you will start your walk up the trail in the moraine. You will cross a small steel bridge over a stream climbing Ngazumpa glacier. After the crossing, you will come across the first of many Gokyo Lakes, Lake Longpongo (4690 m). Once you cross the lake, you will hike further towards the valley and cross the blue waters of beautiful Taboche Tsho Lake. The third lake almost immediately comes after the Taboche Tsho, and you can see the entrance to Gokyo village from here. You can just gaze at the Cho-Oyu Mountain glaring behind these majestic glacial lakes after we reach the village and go for a stroll. You can explore further after some snacks in the village. Gokyo Valley is a small valley gifted with Himalayan scenery and Gokyo Lakes in the Khumbu glacier region. One has to take a rest day here to ease the complications due to altitude sickness. Once in the valley, you will love to spend some time hiking in the near ridges among which the Gokyo Ri hike is most popular. Gokyo Ri is a small mountain from where you can get a majestic panoramic view of the Everest and surrounding ranges. You can also spend the day witnessing the culture and tradition of the people living in the Gokyo village. The lakes and Peaks behind it give some of the most picturesque views in the trek, and you can loosen yourself a bit more in these places. From the village, you can view Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, and several other significant mountains. The tour of the Gokyo lakes which is a brief walk to the major five lakes of the Gokyo region is also a popular hike selection. You can rest and plan for upcoming treks in Gokyo. After a light breakfast and tea, you have an option to explore the surrounding places before continuing the trek. As we have an easy and short trek to Thagnak today, you can take the walking easy. The view from the Gokyo Ri Mountain is sublime, and one should walk to the top to soak in the delights of Cholatse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Nuptse, Everest, and other magnificent mountains. We will start the trek to Thagnak after it. The elevation of our destination today is lower, so most of the path is rocky with a progressive descent. As we traverse along the Ngazumpa glacier crossing multiple small streams in the way, we will reach Thagnak. Reaching there in the late afternoon you can enjoy an epic sunset from one of the viewpoints surrounding Thagnak. Overnight at Thagnak.
Today you will pass through the legendary Cho La pass in the Everest region. Popular among the trekkers, Cho La stands at an altitude of 5,367m and is one of the highest passes in Nepal. Cho-La pass is also the highest point of this trek second to Kala Patthar. We will wake up early in the morning precisely between 2 and 3 am to cross the pass. This is because of the heavy wind making it impossible to cross if done too late. The snow-covered pass is accessible in good weather and is challenging too. One can proudly claim to have reached in the Pass when they can see a pile of prayer flags with a board congratulating you below. Once you take some memories and photos in the Pass, you will have a gradual descent towards Dzongla. The trail might get slippery in multiple areas, and a careful trek will take you to the Dzong La Village. Throughout the pass to reach here, you can find a breathtaking view of Ama Dablam, Cholatse, the Lobuche mountains, and the south face of the Everest behind them. Overnight at Dzongla village.
Today will be the shortest hike of the journey with a gradual rising of the trail leading to the Lobuche village. You will have plenty of time stopping and admiring the fantastic views at some of these places in between. Towards the midway, you can find a small plateau-like place where you can have your picture with the clear sight of the Himalayas in Background. You will pass a couple more small settlements before making to Lobuche. People usually take rest and prepare for the Gorek Shep lake hike through Base camp tomorrow. However, you can also take a short walk to nearby Sherpa villages or to the top of the hill to view a Himalayan sunset. Overnight at Lobuche.
Today you will take a walk to Gorak Shep after a light breakfast at Lobuche. After your visit to the vast Gorak Shep Lake, you will take a path leading to the Indian army mountaineers memorial. In the evening, head towards Kalapatthar Ri. Kalapatthar Ri is a familiar name for those who are planning for Everest base camp visit. A natural Viewpoint in a plain landform with a south-face view of Everest, Nuptse, Changtse and Lhotse, Kalapatthar looks dazzling during the sunrise and sunset too. Kalapatthar Ri also gives you a panoramic view of Hymalian heaven right in front of you standing tall and beautiful. One of the most beautiful places to be in the whole planet you will make the most of it in a brief time in Kala Patthar. Only an hour hike from Gorak Shep you will reach Kala Patthar. After taking some pictures at the iconic Kalapatthar, you will return to Gorak Shep. Overnight at Gorak Shep.
Today you will make your way to the primary destination the trek as Everest Base Camp. The path ahead to the Base camp can be misleading because of the similar landscape and diminishing trails. Follow your guide as you gain more altitude gradually before finally reaching the Everest base camp at 5364 meters of altitude. Once in the Base camp, you can see the Everest closer than ever as you can just reach its summit stretching your arms.
Similarly, one can also have a close-up view of some of the magnificent mountains in the surrounding like Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Pumori, and Khumbutse. With a 360 degree view of snowcapped peaks, you will have an opportunity to chat with some of the summit trekkers and some of the successful climbers in the base camp too. Carrying heart full of inspiration and stories of your journey till now you will return to Gorak Shep for the night.
The trek from Lobuche to Pheriche is mild and gradual descend with amazing natural sceneries surrounding you. You will pass through many Himalayan settlements among which you can take a short break in Dingboche. From here, continue walking in the scenic trail leading to Pheriche. Overnight at Periche.
We have a short and scenic trek ahead of us today. In our walking program, we can meet the locals and try the regional delicacies. The Sherpas and other locals of these areas have perfected their art of living in these areas. You can stop and spend some time in many of these places. In the late afternoon, you will reach Tengboche. You can visit the monasteries and view the sunset from here. Overnight at Tengboche.
You will have the longest walk of the trek today with a gradual descent followed by more steep one. Walking in the path, you will stumble upon some of the most amazing views of the landscape and scenery till now. With Himalayan vegetation and wildlife meeting in the way to a beautiful meadow or a stream with ice cold water straight from the mountains, you will get to learn nature better and in a more beautiful way. Alongside the Dudh Koshi gorge following the past in the pine forest, you will descend to Sansa. From here in Sansa, you can see an amazing view of the Ama Dablam Mountain which looks like a mother protecting her baby cupping her arms. You will take a winding trail descending smoothly towards Manju. Overnight at Manju.
As the last day of your Everest Base camp Trek, you will cover a significant distance from Manju to Lukla skipping Phakding in the way. The trail is mostly rocky and descending. You will lose about 15oo meters in altitude today, and with the views, you will come to see in the way helps to lessen the exhaustion. You will cross multiple small Himalayan sherpa villages where you can stop and learn the local lifestyle. You can also meet the Sherpa climbers who can tell you their own story about the Everest. After crossing multiple suspension bridges over Dudh Koshi and its tributaries, you will have an easier descending path in front of you. Resting and descending slowly you will reach Lukla where you will be spending the night. Overnight at Lukla.
After an early morning tea, you can view the majestic Himalayan sunrise one last time before you pack your bags and get ready. Head towards the Lukla airport for a scenic flight back to Kathmandu and with you is the views of the Himalayas from your plane window. After you reach your hotel rest and go on for souvenir hunting in the streets of Thamel. You can find beautiful pictures, garments, ornaments, and handicrafts to take back as a memorandum to your home. Similarly, one can also find organic products like Honey, Tea and different medicinal herbs in the authentic shops here. After shopping, you can try some local cuisine in some of the places here too. You can also enjoy the partying Nightlife in the city by entering some pub and bars here.
After your breakfast today, we will drive to the city of Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is only about 45 minutes’ drive from your hotel. The first site of today will be the Historical Bhaktapur durbar (palace) square. The Palace was the ruling palace of Malla Kings before Kathmandu city. The golden gate temple, Palace of Fifty-five windows, and the Nyatapola temple square are some of the major attractions in and around the Palace. You can visit the painting schools here, view the Thangkas, and artforms around this fantastic city. You can taste the local Newari cuisine and the famous king curd (Juju Dhau) in Bhaktapur. Return to your hotel and stroll around Thamel in your evening today. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Your last day in Nepal will be full of joy and happiness as you look back to the achievements of your Everest base camp trek in Nepal. Parting breakfast with our crew and staffs, suggestions, feedbacks and experience collection. In some of your spare time seek for some organic goods and products that you can take back home. We will transfer you to the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) a couple of hours before your flight. We will follow up with your suggestions and push forward for even better services in the coming days.

Notes
* Your big Luggage should be 12 kg each without your Carry bag (small bag). You have to carry 4/5 kg with a small bag during you walking on the Trekking. Your small bag should be over 30 to 40L.
* The flights in the Himalayas might sometimes get delayed or canceled due to bad weather conditions. We will book the flights succeeding it immediately so keep your patience and utilize your time visiting nearby attractions.
* You are free to choose a substitute of treks in other regions if the flight cancellation hampers your Everest via gokyo trek significantly.
* You have to bring personal medicine box for the mountain. You have to good physical condition is necessary to travel in Nepal. It is recommended to go to a doctor for a checkup before coming to Nepal.
