Day to Day Itinerary
Today after your arrival at the Tribhuwan int airport in Kathmandu, our representative will attend you and transfer you to the hotel. After a brief introduction and welcoming, you will get an orientation of the trek. You can talk about the Mardi Himal Trek in detail in our office too in your spare time. In a welcome dinner organized by Himalayan Pic Du Midi, you will meet our staffs and get the information on the guides that will assist you throughout this trek. You can try some authentic Nepali staple today and get to know this nation better. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Today will be a trek preparation day for you as you will spend your spare time visiting the UNESCO heritage sites of Kathmandu. Start your day visiting the Bashantpur/(Kathmandu) durbar square near to your hotel. Visit the ancient monuments in the square. You can also try some snacks here. The second destination for today lies about 5 km west of Kathmandu, the Swyambhunath stupa. Visited by both Hindu and Buddhist devotees, Swyambunath is also called " The Monkey Temple". You can have an amazing view of whole Kathmandu Valley from here. In the late afternoon Head towards the major Hindu Shrine of Pashupatinath. Spend the evening in the Stupa of Boudhanath and experience the delights of Tibetan Buddhism from one of the rooftop restaurants here. Return and rest in your hotel. Overnight at Thamel, Kathmandu.
Today after a light breakfast you will head towards the touristic center of western Nepal, Pokhara. You also have a choice to fly there, but you will miss the fantastic scenery and adventurous hill highway drive. You will exit the valley from Thankot and head towards the Trishuli River crossing at Muglin. You will turn right and head towards Pokhara from here. Throughout the way, you can find small and big settlements and Bazaars where you can stop briefly and gulp in some local delicacies. After reaching Pokhara, you will directly go to the hotel and freshen up. In my spare time today, you will visit some of the famous city attraction in Pokhara. You can spend the night strolling through the streets enjoying the spirited nightlife of Pokhara. Overnight at Pokhara.
After a quick morning breakfast at Pokhara, you will head towards Phedi in a Private vehicle/taxi from here. Phedi is the starting point of the trek, and our guides will check the required materials for the trek. As the first day of your trek, you will have a shorter trek to the village of Deurali. Through small villages and settlements alongside terraced farmlands, you will reach Deurali. You can take a nice brief tour of the village and view the mountains and hills from a nearby ridge. Overnight at a hotel in Deurali.
Today after a quick breakfast at your village of Deurali do some stretching and get in the trail to reach the Forest camp. As you walk in the quiet path surrounded by patches of Rhododendron forests, you will pass through a couple of small villages perfect to take a break. Continuing your journey, you will further pass through small streams and waterfalls and finally reaching the plain open area of the Forest camp. Locally known as Kokar you can view magnificent landscapes of plains, hills and ultimately the snowcapped mountains behind them from the Forest Camp. You can take a short tour of this area abundant of different species of Himalayan flora and fauna. Overnight at Forest Camp.
After a quick tea, take a quick stroll in the nearby forest taking some fresh air and stretching your body. The trail leaves the lush forest surrounding the forest camp and heads towards a different terrain as you ascend from here. You will know you are near the low camp as you will see the magnificent view of the Machhapuchhre and Mardi Himal faces. You can make brief stops in the small village falling in the way of trying their local cuisine and observing their Himalayan lifestyle. Once you reach the low camp after some rest be ready for the high camp walk of tomorrow. You can view a fantastic Himalayan sunset from the ridges of the Low camp.
Today is a short but an uphill trek to the high camp of our Mardi Himal Trail. The mountains seem to get closer as we trek further up with rhododendron bushes on both sides of our trail. For watching the Himalayan wildlife, today is the day as you will get vantage points now and then in the path. Blue sheep, Yaks, and other animals and if you are lucky you will spot a rare Daphne (Lophophorous) bird glaring with multiple colors on a sunny day. The view as you reach the camp will be heartwarming as you look down to the place from where you started your day. You will rest for the day to acclimatize and replenish your energy.
Today you will rise early and after a cup of organic tea hike up to the Upper viewpoint for a majestic Himalayan sunrise. You need to start early to get the best of the view. Once you are in the top, you can view an amazing view of Mardi Himal (5587m) and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) at 6993m so closer than ever sparkling with the morning sun. Alongside these mountains, you can get a clear view of Annapurna south (7219m) and I (8091m), Himchuli(6441m), Tent peak (5695m), Baraha Shikhar (7647m) and many other peaks surrounding you giving you a perfect panoramic view. You will rinse your exhaustion and spend as much time you like here as you have a whole day to spend in High camp. You can walk around and take iconic pictures of the Himalayas or just soak in the breathtaking views in your memories forever. Return to the High camp after sightseeing. Overnight at High camp.
After a quick breakfast and a Himalayan sunrise view, you will descend towards the village of Sidhing today. Losing almost 2000m of altitude today most of the path is downwards among the forests and alongside small streams. We choose this trail instead of returning from the older one for more new cultural experiences in the villages and small shrines and monasteries you will encounter today. You can have a pleasant time in Sidhing village observing the lifestyle in the hills. You will pass through trails with traditional terrace farming in both sides of it heading towards Sidhing. Try some local cuisine and rest here today. Overnight at Sidhing village.
Today you will officially end your Mardi Himal trek by reaching Lumre from Sidhing Village. Western Hills is best seen from this segment of the trail. After reaching Lumre, you will take a cab back to Pokhara and your hotel. In the spare time today we will visit the attractions here in Pokhara. Phewa Lake excursion, cave complexs, and the International Mountain Museum are some of the best sites to spend your time in Pokhara. In the evening, enjoy the partying nightlife of Pokhara and return to your hotel. Overnight at Pokhara.
In the spare time today, visit some other cultural and religious destinations of Pokhara. In the afternoon you will head towards the Pokhara airport and fly to Kathmandu. After reaching your hotel, freshen up and head for some souvenir shopping in the local markets of Thamel. Overnight at your hotel in Thamel.
After your breakfast today, we will drive to the city of Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is only about 45 minutes’ drive from your hotel. The first site of today will be the Historical Bhaktapur durbar (palace) square. The Palace was the ruling palace of Malla Kings before Kathmandu city. The golden gate temple, Palace of Fifty-five windows, and the Nyatapola temple square are some of the major attractions in and around the Palace. You can visit the painting schools here, view the Thangkas, and artforms around this fantastic city. You can taste the local Newari cuisine and the famous king curd (Juju Dhau) in Bhaktapur. Return to your hotel and stroll around Thamel in your evening today. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Your last day in Nepal will be full of joy and happiness as you look back to the achievements of your Mardi Himal trek in Nepal. After a parting breakfast with Himalayan pic Du Midi staffs and guides, we will collect your experiences and feedbacks before taking you to the airport for departure. We will follow up with your suggestions and push forward for even better services.

Notes
* Your big Luggage should be 12 kg each without your Carry bag (small bag). You have to carry 4/5 kg with a small bag during you walking on the Trekking. Your small bag should be over 30 to 40L.
* You have to bring personal medicine box for the mountain. You have to good physical condition is necessary to travel in Nepal. It is recommended to go to doctor for a checkup before coming to Nepal.
