The fees and permit charges vary with the duration and regions where you will trekking in Nepal. The charges are standard regardless of other factors within these regions.

1. Everest Region

Everest Region lies in the Sagarmatha National Park area, and the standard charge to enter the National park will apply here alongside an extra entrance fee to enter the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality.

  • Khumbu Pasang Lahmu Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 5):
    USD 20 per person/ week (for the first 4 weeks)
    USD 25 per person /week ( beyond 4 weeks)

2. Annapurna Region

Most of the trekking trails of Annapurna including the ABC circuit lies in the Annapurna Conservation Area. To enter the area, all foreigners must have permits alongside the basic TIMS card for different Trekking activities.

  • ACAP permit fee for foreigners is 2,000 NPR (approx 20$), for visitors from SAARC nations 200 NPR
  • For TIMS permit card: – 1000 NPR (Approx 10$)

Note: The Permits can be obtained from:

  • Nepal Tourism Board in Kathmandu, Pradarshani Marg
  • Nepal Tourism Board Service center, Pokhara, Damside

3. Naar Phu area

Within the Annapurna Conservation Area, there is some selected region falling under the restricted section. One such area is the Nar Phu premises. You have to have a restricted area permit to explore these regions.

The charges are:

  • from September to November: $90 per week
  • from December to August: $ 75 per week

4. Upper Mustang

Within the Annapurna Conservation Area, there is some selected region falling under the restricted section. One such area is the Upper Mustang, ie, the previous kingdom of Lho premises. You must have a restricted area permit to explore these regions.

  • Lomanthang Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 1 to 5)
  • Lo-Ghekar Damodarkunda Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 1 to 5)
  • Baragung Muktichetra Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 3 and Satang Village of ward no.5)

Charges:

USD 500 per person (for the first 10 days)
USD 50 per person /Day ( beyond 10 days)

5. Langtang Region

The trekking trails of Langtang region mostly falls under Langtang National park, and we must enter the premises of the national park paying a certain fee.

  • Gosaikunda Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 1 and some area of ward no. 2)

Charges:

USD 20 per person /week

6. Manaslu Region

The Manaslu region has most of the trails in the Manaslu conservation area of which the precincts of higher Manaslu is classified as restricted regions. Similarly, some part of the trails also crosses the Annapurna Conservation area so; we must have permits of all these areas.

Chumnubri Rural Municipality (All areas of ward nos. 1,2,3 and 4):

  • September to November
    USD 100 per person/week
    USD 15 per person/day (beyond 1 week)
  • December to August
    USD 75 per person/week
    USD 10 per person/day (beyond 1 week)

For Tsum valley:

An additional restricted area permit (RAP) is compulsory before entering the TSUM valley area, and the charges are:-
Sirdibas-Lokpa-Chumling-Chekampar-Nile-Chule

Chumnubri Rural Municipality (All areas of ward nos. 3,6 and 7):

  • September to November
    USD 40 per person/week
    USD 7 per person/day (beyond 1 week)
  • December to August
    USD 30 per person/week
    USD 7 per person/day (beyond 1 week)

7. Dolpo: Upper and Lower

Lower Dolpo and Phoksundo
Lower Dolpo trek passes through the area of Shey-Phoksundo National Park so the permit for the area must be obtained together with the TIMS card.

  • Thulibheri municipality (All areas of ward no. 1 to 11)
  • Tripurasundari municipality (All areas of ward no. 1 to 11)
  • Dolpo Buddha Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 1 to 3)
  • Shey Phoksundo Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 8 and 9)
  • Jagdulla Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 1 to 6)
  • Mudkechula Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 1 to 9)
  • Kaike Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 1 to 7)

Charges:

USD 20 per person/ week
USD 5 per person /week ( beyond 1 week)

Upper Dolpo and Phoksundo
The Upper Dolpo section falls under restricted area hence requires an additional RAP to trek in the region.

  • Dolpo Buddha Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 4 to 6)
  • Shey Phoksundo Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 1 to 7)
  • Charka Tangsong Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 1 to 6)

Charges:

USD 500 per person (for the first 10 days)
USD 50 per person/Day ( beyond 10 days)

All these permits can be obtained from the Nepal Tourism Board Padarshani Marg, Kathmandu.

8. Limi Valley and Humla trek

Permits to The Restricted section os Limi valley must be obtained from the Tourism board according to the charges by the immigration office. Adding to it, an additional charge of 1000 NRS is to be paid per trekker to The District Development Committee in Simikot.

  • Simikot Rural Municipality (All areas of ward nos. 1,6 and 7)
  • Namkha Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 1 to 6)
  • Changkheli Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 3 to 5)

Charges:

USD 50 per person/week
USD 10 per person/day (beyond 1 week)

9. Kanchenjunga Trek

  • Phantanglung Rural Municipality (All areas of ward nos. 6 and 7)
  • Mikwakhola Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 5)
  • Sirijunga Rural Municipality (All areas of ward no. 8)

Charges:

USD 20 per person/ week (for the first 4 weeks)
USD 25 per person /week ( beyond 4 weeks)
